The Martinanches
is a peaceful, silent retreat which surprises and captivates the visitor.
The chateau nestles at the bottom of a valley in a park surrounded by moats. It
was built in the XIth Century and altered
in the XVth and XVIIIth centuries.
The reception rooms are pleasantly intimate.
The visitor can admire : the
vaulted drawing-room with its monumental fire-place : the dining-room with its
23 chairs :
French-style ceilings, porcelain from the East India Company crockery
from the Tuileries an abundance of furniture,
souvenirs of Alexandre de Riberolles
who was the President of the Audit Office, Lord Chancellor of the Legion of Honour.
