The Conros castle
The castle and the park
Conros is planted since the Early middle ages on its rocky outcrop, which dominates the splendid and wild meander of Cère. The impressive medieval keep, flanked of a two round towers and main building, was transformed during the Rebirth into a majestic residence. The beauty and the purity of its architecture make of it a harmonious unit, emphasized by a beautiful romantic park, sublimated by hudred-year-old trees and odoriferous flowers. Conros shelters the exposure “Ode to the Perfumes” and the museum “Arts and traditions”.

Robert d' Humières, born with Conros, grandfather of the current owners, translated works of Rudyard Kipling of wich the famous Livre of the Jungle.

Sunday June 1, 2008, the castle of Conros will open its doors of 14h with 18h.
Admission free in the park. Descriptive indicating the name of the trees and the plants,
deferred on a plan of the park, will be given to our visitors.
Visits of the exposure “Ode to the Perfumes” will be organized with 14h30, 15h30, and 17h
Entrance fee for exposure 4 €, free for the children up to 10 years.____
Les Journées du Patrimoine
Le Château de Conros ouvrira exceptionnellement ses portes pour les Journées du Patrimoine,
le dimanche 21 septembre 2008, de 14h à 18h.
Organisées à l'initiative du Ministère de la Culture et de la Communication, les Journées du Patrimoine auront cette année pour thème national :
« Patrimoine et création »

The
GREEDY WORKSHOPS
a ludic course involves the groups of children from 4
to 10 years, in the park, with discovered spices, while following the enigmas
of the Book of the Jungle. One to taste “chocolate”, in the kitchen
of the castle encloses each workshop… (4€ per child, on reservation,
of May 15 to June 30 and September 1 to October 31).
The
WORKSHOPS “VISITS”
give you appointment, every Tuesday from
June with precise 14h30.
It is a question of proposing a visit of the castle
of Conros and the discovery of the exposure “Ode to the Perfumes”
in preview with the families, on holiday in our area.
The opening to general
public is envisaged on July 1.
At the time of these workshops, the visitors
will be able to discover the park and the castle of Conros in spring, the Cantalian
inheritance in miniature, as well as the perfumes, with accompanying guide of
the inheritance.
(Adults: 6,00 €, Children: 3,00 €, free up to 12
years).

Appointment in the park of the castle of Conros
to listen to stories and local legends animated by storytellers in costumes of
time, every Wednesday of July 23, at August 27, 2008, of 14h with 18h after each
visit of the castle,
(entrance fee all incl.7€).
Free tasting of regional
products at the end of the tales.
(in the event of bad weather, the tales and
tasting will be organized inside).
