The La Vigne castel

La Vigne was at first a Merovingian castle, then a medieval fortress and was rebuilt
in the XVth century by the Lords of Scorailles overlooking an imposing panoramic view. The chateau consists of a main building and towers, the whole construction topped by a rampart-walk over machicolation. From the period decors the visitor will see evidence of the Princess of Condé's visit and Jean-Jacques Rousseau 's stay in 1767.

The chateau is still inhabited and furnished, and is living evidence of the rich past of Upper Auvergne. During the visit you can admire a collection of 3500 model cars depicting the history of the automobile, and ancient toys.
