The La Trémolière castle

Tapisserie d'Anglards de Salers fin XVIè.

Situated in the village of Anglards de Salers, this chateau which was built in the XVth century, was the seat of a seigniory belonging to the Montelar family. On both floors there 's an exhibition of tapestries known as "d'Anglards de Salers ' and XVIth Century Aubusson tapestries showing trees, discovered at the beginning of this century by the parish priest and restored in 1926. These exceptional tapestries depict a bestiary as naïve as it 's picturesque, but also unicorns, dragons, villages and chateaux, ail forming a warm décor contrasting with the finely-painted XVIIIth century wainscoting.

Visit orchard of Déduit: contemporary garden of medieval inspiration, labellized “remarkable Garden”. The garden of the castle of Trémolière was born from the marriage between the imaginary pictorial one of the collection of tapestries “the fantastic bestiary” and of the imaginary of invaluable piece of writing “the Romance of the Rose" .
